DERMA-E – Fresh Face 3-Step Routine

This is a review of DERMA-E products as mentioned in my blog post Take Care of You. 

In my blog Take Care of You, I talked about three essential products I use to keep my morning and bedtime routine of self-care simple. These are products I have used for several years.

I wanted just a simple face wash, moisturizer, and eye cream to cover the basics of skin care. Too many products, and I just wanted to forget the whole process.

Starting simple was very helpful to me.

DERMA-E: “Ethical Beauty. Clean, effective and dermatologist recommended, we are committed to your skin health, well being and the natural environment. That’s the DERMA-E difference.”

1) Face Wash: DERMA-E Anti-Wrinkle Cleanser with Vitamin A and Glycolic Acid. 

“Start fresh. This energizing, sulfate-free formula washes away dirt, oil, makeup and impurities, leaving skin feeling invigorated.”

This is a clear product with a light and fresh feel. Although it is not unscented and contains “Natural Fragrance Oils” it has a very light scent, which doesn’t bother my allergies or skin sensitivities.

It contains retinol, which is where the “anti-wrinkle” part comes into play.

This face wash lathers up nicely and rinses clean, leaving your skin feeling fresh and invigorated.

2) Face Moisturizer: DERMA-E Anti-Wrinkle Renewal Cream.

“A rich, skin-renewing cream that visibly reduces fine lines and wrinkles. Retinol & Bakuchiol refine skin tone and texture while Vitamin E defends against environmental aggressors, leaving skin looking youthful and radiant.”

Luxurious creamy texture would be my top adjective. The white cream is easy and quick to apply, leaving your face feeling fresh.

The cream needs to fully soak into your skin. If not, you may experience a slightly tacky feeling.

Makeup applied over the fully-absorbed moisturizer goes on well.

I feel the moisturizer provides a layer of protection for your skin and a base for your make up. It also makes makeup removal easier.

This product also has “Natural Fragrance Oils.” It has a very light scent, which doesn’t bother my allergies or skin sensitivities.

3) Eye Cream: DERMA-E Hydrating Eye Cream, Hyaluronic Acid & Green Tea. 

“This quick-absorbing fragrance-free eye cream contains hydrating Hyaluronic Acid, antioxidant-rich Green Tea, along with nourishing Vitamins A, C and E for up to 72 hours of hydration, promoting younger-looking skin.”

A cool off-white product, this cream feels light and fresh on the eyelids. I normally do this as step 2 so I cover the eye area before putting on the moisturizer; but, that’s just me.

You will want to press or squeeze the tube gently and slowly, or a long stream of the cream with spurt out, causing a mess and wastefulness. Lol, it does not go back in the tube once it’s out.

Although it is not labeled as unscented or scent-free, there are no fragrances listed in the product list.

4) Detox Face Scrub: DERMA-E Purifying Daily Facial Detox Scrub with Activated Charcoal and Seaweed Extract.

“Your daily detox delight. This gentle exfoliant helps lift away impurities and excess oil. Activated Charcoal and Apricot Seed Powder help remove micropollutants while Marine Algae Extract helps to deliver hydration as it exfoliates and preps skin to guard against daily environmental and digital pollution.”

I added this fourth product here, which is not mentioned in my blog Take Care of You. This is a product I use regularly 3-4 times a week. Since I don’t use it daily, I didn’t add it to the simple, easy daily 3-step routine.

I love this product.

It has a gritty, creamy texture, with a silver-gray-black appearance; leaving your face feeling very fresh and clean.

I use this after my face wash in the shower 3-4 times a week.

The product says it is a daily detox scrub, so you could add it as a 4^th step to your daily fresh face routine if you would like.

“DERMA E Purifying Daily Detox Scrub is 100% vegan and cruelty-free, and does not contain parabens, sulfates, mineral oil, lanolin, gluten or GMOs.”

Although it is not labeled as unscented or scent-free, there are no fragrances listed in the product list.

All products have a “How to use” instruction on the product.

My Conclusion

That’s it. That’s all I currently use. Quick, easy, clean and refreshing.

Having not done before & after pictures, I have no proof of less wrinkles or reduction of any wrinkles I already had. But that’s okay! Wrinkles are a part of life. One might go so far as to say, “Hey! I earned every one of those wrinkles.”

While no product is 100% absolutely perfect, I don’t have any complaints with these, which is why I use them daily.

Why do I use DERMA-E?

Not only have I used these products for years, and they feel good on my skin. They do not bother my sensitive skin.

When looking for a better product than the one I was using, I found DERMA-E and dug into their company, finding it refreshingly environmentally friendly and conservative.

They accomplish their goal of a good clean product by not using a lot of the toxic chemicals that can be found in any number of other products.

These products have earned my trust. Trust, to me, is of the upmost importance in choosing a product. If a company earns my trust, living up to their claims, I’m in.
